Air Fryer Asparagus is one of those things I am kicking myself for not making sooner! I love that it can work to zero or low smart points on WW! While I love my vegetables, sometimes bacon just makes those vegetables better.

Asparagus is one of those iron-rich vegetables that, thankfully, the kids love as well! We often tend to have this as a side, and thankfully, we find it at our local farm stand for a great price too! Now bacon is my favorite way to cook up asparagus, but we love finding new ways to cook it too!

WHAT IS Weight Watchers?

When starting any new weight loss program or diet changes be sure to consult with a doctor or physician about any personal health concerns. It is a good idea to have blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and hormones checked at a physical before and during being on the WW program.

New to Weight Watchers?? Also known as WW, a weight loss program uses points assigned to food to track and lose weight. When you sign up, you take an assessment that will assign you a point value to eat daily and a weekly allowance. You can carry over 4 points from the day into your weekly allowance, which is handy when you need more points.

I have been on Weight Watchers since 2011. They have had Points Plus Value, WW Smartpoints, blue plan, green plan, purple plan, WW Personal Points, and now Weight Watchers Points. The new Weight Watchers Simplified plan is the new program launched in November 2022 is similar to previous plans like WW Smartpoints, with some color plans.

No matter the WW plan, they work to help you learn healthy eating habits. I have hit lifetime goal weight a couple of times but stopped operating the plan and tracking, so the weight does creep back on. You do stay on as a lifetime member, just working towards goal. Head on over ->here to get a month for free.

Air Fryer Asparagus Ingredients:

  • Asparagus
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive Oil
  • Bacon
  • Parmesan Cheese

How To Cook Air Fryer Asparagus:

Snap the ends of your asparagus off; I bend them and let them naturally snap at the spot it gives in the thicker end of the asparagus. You can use scissors to clip the ends of them off.

Wash your asparagus off in a strainer and allow them to dry off; I love using an over-the-sink strainer.

If you need to pat dry your asparagus before getting ready to cook.

Spray your air fryer rack or basket. I have the PowerXL 8 Quart Air Fryer I received to review and love; the racks work amazingly to cook for a bigger family.

The next steps will vary depending on how you cook your asparagus.

How To Make Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus

If cooking with bacon, wrap a slice around 2-3 pieces of asparagus and stick them together with a toothpick.

How To Make Seasoned Asparagus

If cooking with oil and seasonings, coat in olive oil spread out on your rack, and then season.

For cooking with cheese, coat your asparagus with oil and then spread it out on the rack.

How Long To Cook Air Fryer Asparagus

I cooked mine at 375 degrees for seven minutes. Your air fryer may cook hotter or cooler, so be sure to watch how it is cooking.

Weight Watchers Air Fryer Asparagus Smartpoints

Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus– Bacon is 2 points for one slice or 3 points for two slices of bacon.

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter– This spray works out to 1 tablespoon in 20 sprays, which is zero points on weight watchers.

Olive Oil With Seasoning–  1 Tsp of olive oil is 1 Smartpoint on the WW; most seasonings work out to zero points or are so small that they will have no points.
