This weight watchers coleslaw recipe is so easy to make! I loved making my original 4 Ingredient coleslaw, but the points on it were high because of the mayonnaise in the recipe. I knew an easy substitute for Mayo in coleslaw would lower the point value of the side dish.

When I decided to try making coleslaw, finding an easy recipe was essential. If the main dish is complicated, the easier the side dish, the happier I am. Plus, when it comes to last-minute cookouts and BBQs, easy and fast always saves the day.
One of my favorite “tricks” to WW and potluck dinners/potluck BBQs is to ensure I take something I like.
WHAT IS Weight Watchers?
When starting a new weight loss program or diet change, consult a doctor or physician about personal health concerns. It is a good idea to have blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and hormones checked at a physical before and during being on the WW program.
New to Weight Watchers?? Also known as WW, a weight loss program uses points assigned to food to track and lose weight. When you sign up, you take an assessment that will assign you a point value to eat daily and a weekly allowance. You can carry over 4 points from the day into your weekly budget, which is handy when you need more points.
I have been on Weight Watchers since 2011. They have had Points Plus Value, WW Smartpoints, Blue Plan, Green Plan, Purple Plan, WW Personal Points, and now Weight Watchers Points. The new Weight Watchers Simplified plan is the new program launched in November 2022 similar to previous plans like WW Smartpoints, with some color plans. ( You can see the Weight Watchers Zero Point Foods 2023 -> here)
No matter the WW plan, they work to help you learn healthy eating habits. I have hit lifetime goal weight several times but stopped operating the plan and tracking, so the weight does creep back on. You stay on as a lifetime member, working towards your goal. Head on over ->here to get a month for free.
Coleslaw Ingredients:
Dry Coleslaw Mix– You can buy this in the store, with and without the coleslaw dressing. I tend to grab whichever one is cheapest and toss or give away the dressing if it comes with it. I am not a fan of store-bought cole slaw dressing.

weight watchers coleslaw dressing Ingredients:
Greek Yogurt– This will be the substitute for mayo in coleslaw. You will use zero-fat Greek yogurt, but the bonus is that it will also have protein.
Apple Cider Vinegar-You can use white vinegar or other vinegar instead of apple cider vinegar, I wanted the taste of the apple cider paired up with the coleslaw.
Honey-You can use store-bought honey or local honey. My honey came from a friend on the Olympic Peninsula. Also, white granulated sugar can be used in substitution of honey.
**Agave syrup could also be used in place of the honey if you want to lower the points but it may affect the taste of the coleslaw.**
how to make coleslaw
In a large bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, the honey, and the apple cider vinegar. I used a small whisk to make sure that everything combined smoothly to make a creamy coleslaw mixture.

To get the lowest WW Points you will want to use the zero greek yogurt, other yogurts will be lower point value then mayo but the zero fat will add no points.

Once the Coleslaw dressing has been mixed, mix in the dry coleslaw mix. I did this by adding half the bag of coleslaw and mixing it with the dressing, then adding the other half.
If you choose to use a head of cabbage, you will need to shred it and the carrots and purple cabbage either with a food processor or a knife.
Once well mixed you can serve or store in the fridge before serving.

Tips From A Former KFC Manager
Fun fact I worked for KFC as a general manager from 2005-2008 where you make the KFC Coleslaw daily. The employees wear gloves up to their elbows to mix the dry cabbage wmix with the premixed dressing. You can tell the pockets of dry cole slaw easily that.
Also, they allow their coleslaw to be set for 6 hours before serving or overnight. They then package into containers or pans for the line.
HOW TO STORE COLESLAW
Store the coleslaw in the fridge in an airtight container for 3-5 days. The liquid from the creamy dressing will settle in the bottom, so be sure to stir well before serving or moving to a serving dish like a large bowl or big bowl.
Weight watchers Points Breakdown
The only ingredient with points is the honey! You can decrease the amount or use another substitute to lower the points. As with any recipe, manually calculate your points and serving sizes, as many brands will vary in points.

MIX INS FOR COLELAW
Even though this coleslaw is made with simple ingredients, simple add-ins can take the flavor to the next level. Ensure that the add-ins don’t have a Weight Watchers Point value, which will change the points per serving.
- Diced Apple Chunks
- Dijon Mustard
- Red Onion
- Lemon Juice
- Rice Vinegar
- Champagne Vinegar
SEASONINGS TO ADD TO DRESSING
Extra seasonings can be a simple ingredient to add to a recipe, but they can change the flavoring of the coleslaw when mixed into the homemade coleslaw dressing.
