Weight Watchers Air Fryer Tilapia Recipe

I love my air fryer during these summer months, even though my grill is amazing; making Air Fryer Tilapia, there is no extra heat. Fish is one of those lean proteins that are light and filling simultaneously. Basing your meals around a low protein is a great way to stay focused on being healthy.

Zero-point proteins are some of my favorites, I usually do boneless skinless chicken breast, but it is nice to change it up. Zero-point foods allow me to enjoy other meals or find balance if I have used Weight Watcher points on other foods.

A Note From Jenny

When starting any healthy lifestyle, consult a doctor to address any personal health concerns. Some things can only be addressed medically and by a professional. Blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and hormones checked at a physical before starting and at least once a year, as these all can affect an active lifestyle.

With so many different programs, such as Weight Watchers, Keto, and macros, it can be hard to know what to pick. (If you’re interested in Weight Watchers, you can sign up -> here and sign up for $10/month for 10 months.)

I personally use the app Myfitnesspal to track my food.  I use macros and focus on High Protein (calories, fat, protein, and carbohydrates) and rotate through cuts and maintenance calories. (Use a calculator like this -> here)  . I did WW for years, but now that I am more maintenance, with cuts throughout the year, and focusing on mobility with strength training. There is no right or wrong answer, as all bodies are different.

Lemon Pepper Tilapia Air Fryer Ingredients

Tilapia

Lemon Pepper Seasoning– You can use as little or as much as you want; squeezing fresh lemon juice over the fillets will pop out more of the lemon flavor.

What Type Of Tilapia To Use

I like to buy frozen filets of Tilapia, they are easy to keep in the freezer, and I can pull them one at a time to defrost. I like to buy mine from Amazon.

You can buy fresh Tilapia Fillets at the grocery store as well; it is hard to fish for, so it is farmed quite often. Texas does have it in lakes if you are in Texas.

How To Make Tilapia In Air Fryer

Make this recipe using thawed or fresh Tilapia.

Tilapia fillet thawed on a plate in packaging

Spray the air fryer basket or racks with a nonstick spray.

Lay the Tilapia fillet or fillets in the basket or on the rack flatter side down. There was no skin to my tilapia fillet, but if you have skin that will be the part you want to be in contact with the air fryer basket or rack.

Weight Watchers Air Fryer Tilapia seasoned with lemon pepper in dreo chefmaker with temperature probe

Sprinkle with your lemon pepper seasonings and turn your air fryer to the fish setting or 400 degrees.

Now I made this using the Dreo Chefmaker (don’t worry, it’s on Amazon here as well as their site), and the fish cooking program and it took all the guesswork out of the cooking time, and the humidity control made for flaky perfect consistency. You can see it on their site -> here or on Amazon -> here.

Allow to cook for the fish setting or 8 to 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Your air fryer will have buttons if it has a fish cooking setting. If not, you can do a temperature setting.

Fish is fully cooked at 145 degrees. If your air fryer does not have a built-in probe, use a food thermometer to temperature-check the fish to ensure it is done.

Remove and serve!

Weight Watchers Tilapia Points

Tilapia is one of those foods that is a zero-point food. (see more in my Zero Point Food Guide) The Weight Watchers Tilapia Points are zero because I used no oil and a zero-point seasoning.

This is also a cheaper fish, meaning you can save money plus, it has good macros, meaning no carbs, high in protein, low in fat

Other Seasonings For Tilapia

Lemon Pepper seasoning is one of my favorites, but really, you can use any fish seasoning or seasoning combination.

What To Serve With Lemon Pepper Tilapia Air Fryer

There is no wrong choice of a side dish for lemon pepper tilapia! I served mine up with Asian Salad and Brussels sprouts. Nothing is off limits for a side dish; since the fish fillet was zero points, I used points on my side dishes.

WW Sides: Air Fryer Bacon Asparagus, Oven Roasted Baby Potatoes, Air Fryer Brussell Sprouts, Green Beans, Ceasar Salad, Green Salad, Baked Sweet Potatoes, Air Fryer Broccoli, Grilled Zucchini, Grilled Corn On The Cob, Air Fryer Zucchini Chips, Crockpot Quinoa, Cole Slaw

Tilapia is by far my favorite fish. I love to buy the fresh filets from Sam’s Club because they are extra big and meaty. The air fryer gives it such a nice flavor. Thanks for the zero points recipe. While I don’t use WW, I do count calories and tilapia gives a lot of bang for your buck. So much protein!! Thanks. 🙂

I can’t believe these amazing tilapia fillets are made with just two ingredients. I guess that’s a testament to the magic of lemon pepper seasoning and an air fryer. I can’t wait to make these again!

Mmm, yummy! Tilapia is widely available where I live, so we make it a lot. This was great for dinner after a really busy day helping my parents move. What a task! I added a pinch of garlic powder. Delish!

These were so easy to make and tasted delicious.
I am not doing WW but just love adding fish recipes to our menu.
I served it with some garlic butter potatoes and a big green salad.
    It was delicious.
Although both my hubby and two eldest boys eat two fillets each so I had to use both of my duel air fryers 😂😂
    But great recipe, so easy!!
