4 Pure protein bars, 3 built bars, one fiber one protein bar, and one kind protein bar

Now, over the years, one thing I have learned is that protein helps me stay full longer and also fulfills my workouts! Bars are a great way to refuel and also to feel that you had a snack. The urge to snack is one of those things that has never entirely gone away for me.

A Note From Jenny

When starting any healthy lifestyle, consult a doctor to address any personal health concerns. Some things can only be addressed medically and by a professional. Blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and hormones checked at a physical before starting and at least once a year, as these all can affect an active lifestyle.

With so many different programs, such as Weight Watchers, Keto, and macros, it can be hard to know what to pick. (If you’re interested in Weight Watchers, you can sign up -> here and sign up for $10/month for 10 months.)

I personally use the app Myfitnesspal to track my food.  I use macros and focus on High Protein (calories, fat, protein, and carbohydrates) and rotate through cuts and maintenance calories. (Use a calculator like this -> here)  . I did WW for years, but now that I am more maintenance, with cuts throughout the year, and focusing on mobility with strength training. There is no right or wrong answer, as all bodies are different.

Why Eat Protein Bars on WW

Protein bars are more than just a quick snack; they can be a strategic tool for managing your diet and hunger.

  • Controlled Hunger: Protein bars, rich in protein, help maintain staying full, a vital aspect in Weight Watchers where managing cravings is crucial.
  • Muscle Maintenance During Weight Loss: Protein bars provide essential amino acids for muscle repair and growth to ensure you lose fat and not muscle.
  • Boosted Metabolism: A diet high in protein can enhance your metabolic rate, aiding in more efficient calorie burning.

How To Pick A WW Low Point Protein Bar

Rich in Fiber: Fiber is another satiety-inducing nutrient, making it a desirable component in a protein bar.

Compatibility with Weight Watchers Points: Ensure the bars fit comfortably within your daily points allowance.

How To Compare Comparing Protein Bars

Several factors are crucial for effective weight management when selecting protein bars, especially for a Weight Watchers diet.

Protein vs. Calories: Finding the Balance for Weight Loss

Look for bars with a high protein-to-calorie ratio. This ensures you get enough protein for satiety and muscle maintenance without consuming too many calories.

Sugar Content: Understanding its Impact on Diet

High sugar content can negate the benefits of protein bars. Choose bars with minimal added sugars to avoid unnecessary calorie intake and potential cravings.

Weight Watchers Points: How to Choose Bars that Fit Your Points Budget

Select bars that offer good nutritional value for fewer Weight Watchers points. This helps you stay within your daily points limit while still enjoying a fulfilling snack.

Salted caramel, cookies and cream, and brownie built bars

Which Protein Bars Have the Lowest Points?

  • Built Bars: Salted Caramel and Vanilla Cream are the lowest at 2 points per bar while other flavors are between 3-5 flavors.
  • Quest Minis: Cookies and Cream comes in at 1 point while chocolate chip cookie dough is 2 points per bar. The larger bars vary between 3-4 points each.
  • FiberOne: For 2 points choose the 90 calorie chocolate bar, soft baked birthday cake bar, 70 calorie bar in chocolate chewy, chocolate peanut butter, lemon soft baked bar, chocolate caramel pretzel chewy bar, or cinnamon coffee cake. Always check your app as the various flavors can change and point value range from 2-6 points per bar.
  • Robert Irvine’s Fit Crunch Bars: If you’re looking for more of a meal replacement, several of these bars are between 6-8 points and are packed with whey protein.
