Sausage Skillet Pasta is one of those meals that is perfect for when the kids have practice! I always look for new recipes, but one-pot meal recipes are a favorite! We always need a last-minute dinner to get on the table!

This sausage recipe came from my tribe of moms when I was looking for an easy dinner; my whole family loved it. Most of this easy pasta recipe is pantry items, so it doesn’t require a trip to the grocery store, and if you do, it’s only a couple of ingredients. You can make small changes to this recipe to make it one of your family’s favorite recipes to serve up at the dinner table.

southside bbq and market beef sausage

I was excited to find out that we could order Southside BBQ Sausage to our door!  Head on over -> here and use promo code TXBBQ10 to save 10% on your order.  The kids fell in love with Tx BBQ in Austin a couple of years ago, so we have been hooked on this sausage! We used Beef Sausage when we made this and loved the flavor that the sausage adds. Excellent meat shipped to your door… does it get any easier and tastier?

Sausage Skillet Pasta Ingredients:

  • Beef Sauage– Any of the rope sausages will also work in this recipe as well.
  • Minced Garlic
  • Onion Powder
  • Chicken Broth
  • Rotini Pasta
  • Milk
  • Olive Oil
  • Monterey Jack Cheese

How To Make Sausage Pasta Skillet:

Slice your beef sausage into small pieces, a little bit smaller than 2-inch pieces.

Use a large skillet that has a lid to make this dish.

Set the skillet on your burner and turn to medium-low heat.

Sausage Minced Garlic Sautéing

Add a little oil in your skillet; it is a little olive oil you need to help the sausage not stick to the pan.

Heat oil and then add a bit of minced garlic to taste and drop in your sliced sausage. (You can use cloves of garlic if you want)

Add the onion powder to your sausage and garlic in the skillet, this adds incredible flavor to the dish.

Saute your sausage for a bit until it starts to brown.

Once the sausage has browned, add in  Chicken Broth, Milk, and Uncooked Pasta.

Sausage Water Boiling Pasta

Bring the skillet to medium-high heat until it comes to a boil, and then reduce your heat to low and cover with the lid.

Allow the dish to continue simmering until the liquid is gone, and you can do the pasta al dente or softer based on your family’s preference.

Stir occasionally as the pasta cooks, you can use the time to clean up the kitchen and kids homework. Thankfully this meal has minimal clean-up to it.

Cheese On Sausage Pasta Skillet Meal

Sprinkle with cheese, and then cover the skillet with your lid again until the cheese has melted thoroughly.

Serve and enjoy!

Delicious recipe! Incredibly filling and good. I add half a cup of water because I love the broth so much.
