I’ve compiled over a dozen of my favorite rope sausage recipes for you that are always a hit with my family, especially with the kids. Here, you’ll find more than just sausage pasta recipes. There’s everything from easy apps and breakfast bakes to complete and delicious dinners. Some are so easy that even the kids can help to make them.

My family loves sausage recipes. From Polish Kielbasa with pierogi or Italian hot sausage and peppers, whether it’s sausage pasta recipes, sausage and rice recipes or the simplest sausage and potato dish, they can’t get enough. And what my kids love most about these recipes is that they’re easy enough for them to help.
When I’m making these sausage recipes, my favorite kind of sausage to use is rope sausage. There’s just something about it that seems fresher and far superior to regular sausage. It’s plumper and juicier and the flavor is just unique. If you’re unsure of what rope sausage is, check out the next section.
What Is Rope Sausage?
Rope sausage, also called ring sausage or coil sausage, is a delicious and often overlooked protein option that goes well in so many recipes. The name can refer to a variety of sausages because it refers less to the type of sausage more to how it’s processed and packaged: like a coiled or banded rope.
Unlike shorter link sausages, rope sausage can be 3.5 – 4 feet long and the coil can weigh upwards of 2 pounds. They’re usually made from ground beef or pork, or a combination of the two, and stuffed in an animal-based casing.
