Now I didn’t start cooking in the kitchen until about 2011/2012. So back in the day, this was a great starter recipe for me plus it’s been a good one for my kids to gain confidence in the kitchen as well.
Cornflake Chicken Tenders Recipe Ingredients:
- Breast Tenderloin Strips– You can take boneless skinless chicken breasts and cut them into strips to save money.
- Corn Flakes– Put the cornflakes in a Ziploc bag and using a rolling pin or meat tenderizer crumble the cornflakes. (or you can buy corn flake crumbs on amazon already done and crushed)
- Parmesan Cheese– I use Kraft Parmesan cheese but you could use grated fresh parmesan cheese to make these as well.
- Ground Black Pepper
- Garlic Salt
- Butter
how to make Cornflake Chicken Tenders:
Measure out your cornflakes into a zippered bag and close the bag.
Use a rolling pin or your hands to crumble up the cornflakes to make your breading.
Dump the Cornflake crumbles into a mixing bowl and add the Parmesan cheese, pepper, and garlic salt. (I used shredded parmesan cheese this time)

Melt your butter into liquid in a microwave-safe bowl.
Line a cookie sheet with foil or parchment paper, next time I plan to spray mine with a non-stick spray for some reason they stuck this time.
If you need to cut down a chicken breast to make the tender strips. If you haven’t tried the Perdue chicken you need to! Their chicken Tenderloins are perfect for this and they will ship to your home! You can order and check out their site -> here.
Dip each strip into your butter and make sure it is coated.

Then roll the buttered chicken into your cornflake mixture.
Place the breaded stip onto your foil-lined pan.

Repeat this process until they are all coated.
You may end up needing to mix more breading or if you have breading leftover spread the remaining over the top of the chicken tenders to add more seasonings and crispiness.
Bake in your oven, I started checking the temperature of the Cornflake Chicken Tenders at 20 minutes, they were done around 25 minutes. Use a meat thermometer to verify they are at 165 degrees or hotter before serving.

yum, Our family loves chicken and preparing it in the oven is at the top of my list. I don’t like all the splatters when fried on top of the range.
