This Cream Cheese Chicken Crock Pot is one of my family’s favorite dinners!! Ever have those weeks where dinner time is impossible? There are weeks when dinner time would have been a disaster if it wasn’t for my crockpot! I love quick and easy-to-throw-together meals for the crockpot!

We first started making this dinner in 2014, and 11 years later, it is still a favorite! While I love it in the winter, it is also one of my go-to comfort food dinners for summer since it uses the slow cooker! The leftovers make for great lunch, or easy leftovers for the kids during the sports season!
Why You’ll Love 4-Ingredient Crockpot Chicken With Cream Cheese
- Only 4 ingredients to make this recipe!
- The creamy sauce adds flavor to the chicken and makes it perfect comfort food
- The whole family will enjoy the dinner, and the house will smell amazing!
Cream Cheese Chicken Crock Pot Ingredients:
Cream Cheese– You can allow this to soften to room temperature and even cut up into smaller cubes to put in the crockpot.
Italian Salad dressing seasoning
Chicken Breast– I use boneless skinless chicken breasts. Other boneless meat cuts will work, but dark meat will be greaser.

How to Make Chicken Cream Cheese Crock Pot
Spray your crockpot with nonstick spray.
*I doubled the recipe this time to make a bigger batch in my 8-quart crockpot. If you don’t want to spray, you can use a crockpot liner for easy cleanup.*
Now I have several crockpots and love them. I have them in all sizes, and they all serve their use. Not sure what size crockpot to buy? Check out my guide-> here on what size is best for your family.
Place your chicken breasts into the bottom of the crockpot.

Place cream cheese and cream of chicken on top of the chicken breasts.
Sprinkle a packet of Italian dressing seasoning over the ingredients. For extra flavor you can add another packet or half of a packet.

Cook on low for 6-8 hours. You can stir occasionally to make sure it is well mixed together.
Serve with rice or pasta. You can also use a fork to make shredded chicken in the sauce as well.

How to Store crockpot chicken with cream cheese
After making the dinner, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. You can freeze the leftovers for up to 30 days, but the cream cheese sauce may look different when thawed and reheated.
Storing leftovers properly requires the right tools! My preferred storage method is if the leftovers can be sealed in a food saver. If not, then an air-tight container or Ziploc bag for the fridge is the way I go. The airtight container or a freezer Ziploc bag are the next best bet for freezing the leftovers. I also use a food scale to measure portions into serving sizes.

This may sound stupid, but cooked chicken breasts or raw? I know some people are afraid to leave raw chicken to slow cook so wasn’t sure…
I do raw, I know some people even do frozen. Just be sure to use a food thermometer to test the temperature and you are good to go.
What size cream cheese? 4oz. Or 8oz.
It is 8. I’ve made this 30 times. Lol. Family and friend favorite! Great to put together in a ziplock as a freezer meal for a sick friend.
Does the cream cheese not split? I’ve tried something similar before and it’s always split!
I’m not sure what you mean by split, but I actually toss the cream cheese into the warm crock for a few then stir the soup and seasonings well and put chicken on top. It needs a good fork stir, breaking up and unmixed chunks of cream cheese, but it’s always been creamy and delicious for me.
How many chicken breasts? 4 6 8?
I noticed there was no reply about how many chicken breast. they did to be more specific on ingredients
With 8 oz of cream cheese, I’m going to guess at least 4 chicken breasts. Looks like this makes a lot of “gravy” so maybe even 6. But I’d try four the first time.
I too would like to know how many chicken breasts to use with this.
How many chicken breast to use?
I make this all the time . Becareful how long you cook it. I use the frozen chicken breast from Costco that I thaw and it is fully cooked in 3 hours on LOW. Not the 6-8 hours.
Do u add water to the cream ofchicken
I have a recipe similar to this and it’s one of our favorites.
Thanks for sharing this recipe – I like using cream cheese in chicken recipes – nice and creamy results! Blessings, Janet
How smart to post this recipe at this time of year. Most people think that crock pots are only for winter, but they are actually wonderful for the summer because they generate so little heat and use little energy. Much better than cranking up the oven in the house you are paying to cool down, right?
I had something very similar to this at a friends house. It’s delicious.
I was not very great. I had to eat it with chips because the taste was too smooth.
This looks so yummy! I love recipes that have few ingredients, too. So great for us busy folks. Thanks so much for sharing 🙂
Sounds delicious! Cream cheese just seems to make any dish taste better! Thanks for sharing! Blessings, Janet
crock pot comfort food! this looks delicious!
Can the chicken cook on high for 3 hrs?
Can I cook chicken on high for 3 hours instead of low for 6 hours ?
Wow – so simple but sounds so good!
Check the nutrition. Thus recepie has way too much salt!
I never saw how many chicken breast ? 2
I used three large ones. If I make it in my big crock pot I double all the ingredients. Hope that helps!
Tried this with instant Ranch dressing. Serve with noodles, also very yummy! 😋
I also made it with ranch dressing and it was delicious !
Can I use something besides cream of chicken soup? How about sour cream?? I am not a fan of using cream-of soups! Thanks so much!!
Cream Cheese Chicken Crock Pot
I read where you used 1 oz of cream cheese, then I read where it is 4 or 8 oz.
What is the right amount?
By chance do you know what WW points would be?
Thank you for your information. This is a great site.
