These prosciutto caprese salad skewers are my new favorite obsession. It’s like a miniature caprese salad on a stick that you can eat with your hands! I love making Caprese salad at home, but these Caprese skewers are perfect for potlucks, tailgating, parties, and yes, even dinner at home.

I’m not much of a “green salad girl”. But these fancy caprese skewers are my new favorite way to enjoy my favorite non-salad salad.

It’s the simple, traditional ingredients of my easy tomato caprese, but smaller and in fingerfood form. They can be made in about the same amount of time, and the kids can even help!

Much like my caprese pasta salad, these individual caprese skewers with balsamic drizzle are just so much better than traditional Caprese salad for parties, cookouts, potlucks, and more. You may never eat Caprese salad with a fork again!

Why You’ll Love This Caprese Recipe

  • Caprese skewers with prosciutto are a great take on the classic caprese salad.
  • The individual skewers are better and easier for parties, large gatherings, cookouts, etc
  • Once you have one done, you can show the kids how to carefully make the rest and move on with dinner.

What Is Tomato Caprese?

Tomato Caprese is a simple but classic Italian salad or appetizer made with ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, and olive oil. We sometimes use parsley in place of basil for my kids’ personal taste preference.

How to Make Caprese Salad Skewers

You will not believe how easy these fancy Caprese salad skewers are to make. You can even make one and show the kids how to do the rest!

Step 1

Decide on your pattern for the skewer. It doesn’t have to be complicated; just alternate ingredients to your liking.

  • If you are using shorter skewers, just place one of each item on the skewer slide.
  • If you are using longer skewers, alternate ingredients. I like to do mozzarella, basil, prosciutto, tomato, mozzarella, basil, tomato, prosciutto, basil, mozzarella

Step 2

Lay the finished skewer on a serving tray or platter. If you are making these ahead of time, cover the tray with plastic wrap and keep it in the refrigerator.
