DIY Nacho Bar For Easy Tailgating

Can you believe it?? The football season is almost over and the big game day is approaching fast now!!! This past weekend while we were watching the playoffs we opted to do a DIY Nacho Bar! I can’t believe how easy it was to do, and it’s on the menu for the big game now!!! I loved we were able to snack off it as we were hungry, and the prep work was easy!

Now football is a huge part of our lives!!! If we aren’t at soccer games on the weekend, we are tailgating at home. We still make the food, but man, it’s not the same without the games to watch on tv!!! Â
The kids love to order nachos when we eat out, but let’s face it, 90% of the nacho toppings they actually won’t eat, or the cheese is too spicy. When it came to the playoffs, Michael was begging to get nachos, so we went frugal and made them at home!

We picked up Ricos cheese at Walmart, but it is also on Amazon when we were there getting the rest of our supplies for nachos! This was such a great price, I had been worried it would blow our budget. Now, the rest of the toppings you can totally customize to what your family or guests like.Â

DIY Nacho Bar Topping Ideas:
- Meat– We have used 2 ingredient chicken taco meat before but this time around I did ground beef with homemade taco seasoning on it.
- Ricos Cheese
- Tortilla Chips
- Sour Cream
- Guacamole
- Black Olives
- Tomatoes
- Jalapenos
- Green Onions

DIY Nacho Bar Tips:
Prep your meat topping early!! Using frozen cooked ground beef (see more -> here) I did up our ground beef with taco Seasoning and fajita seasoning!

Use Ricos cheese as your topping!!! Seriously it’s so easy to warm up and serve up with your nachos!!

Prep your veggies up early.  I like to do mine the night before; it makes game day more enjoyable and saves time in the kitchen.
Many nacho bar items can be served in bowls and stored in the fridge overnight. I have also found this helps me know when I have to run to the store before guests come or the game starts.

Serve on paper plates and enjoy!!! (trust me, this is a lot fewer dishes)

I mean how amazing is this!!!
