This Easy Cheesy Refried Bean Dip takes only 5 minutes to prep and delivers warm, melty, restaurant style flavor that is perfect for game day, potlucks, or any Taco Tuesday. This is made with simple ingredients like refried beans, cream cheese, salsa, and Mexican cheese. This hot bean dip is creamy, satisfying, and always the first appetizer to disappear. Serve it with tortilla chips for an easy appetizer, or serve it up as a side dish as well.

While nothing is wrong with regular refried beans as a side, switching them up with cheesy refried beans is amazing! When I order Mexican food, I always dip my tortilla chips into the beans on the side. This takes those beans a step further. This recipe can double as a side dish or an appetizer recipe!

How To Make Bean Dip From Canned Refried Beans
You will want to pull out the cream cheese to soften it beforehand.

Preheat your oven to 300 degrees.
Combine the can of refried beans, cream cheese, and sour cream in a medium mixing bowl. I used a spatula to do this; the cream cheese will take some work to mix into everything.

Once the refried bean mixture is well combined, add the salsa and taco seasoning and mix well.

Spray a baking dish with a nonstick spray; I used a Pyrex 2.2 Quart pan.
This pan works great for serving and storage; the lid makes an airtight container for storing.

Spread the bean mixture into the pan and smooth it with a spatula.
Top with the bean mixture with the cheese blend. And feel free to measure with your heart if you want.

Bake for about 30 minutes.

How To Make Healthy Refried Bean Dip
- Swap out your retired beans for Fat-Free Refried Beans.
- Replace the regular cream cheese with fat-free or reduced-fat cream cheese.
- Swap the regular cheese for reduced fat or fat free shredded cheese, or reduce the amount of cheese.
- Exchange the regular sour cream for reduced-fat or fat-free sour cream.

Tips for Making the Best Bean Dip:
- Allow the cream cheese to soften completely; this makes mixing easier.
- Be sure to use a spatula; a whisk won’t work with the thick ingredients.
- Don’t skip the salsa; trust me, it adds moisture and flavor
- Bake until cheese is bubbly and golden on the edges
- Tastes great served warm, and the leftovers are tasty at room temperature
How To Store Leftover Cheesy Refried Beans
Store in the fridge for up to three days after cooking in an air-tight container. This will not freeze well.
How To Reheat Leftover Refried Beans
You can reheat this in the oven or the microwave. This is one of those recipes that I like cold as well.
