Crock Pot Ranch Chicken Recipe Only Four Ingredients

There is no joking about this; you need this Crock Pot Ranch Chicken in your meal planning rotation! This 4 ingredient crockpot ranch chicken has only 4 ingredients and is easy to make since there are no steps! This is one of those recipes I make year-round on busy soccer nights, school nights, and even days when we just get swamped running errands.

Now, without counting the ranch seasoning, you can call this crockpot ranch chicken three ingredients, but I count seasonings as ingredients. As busy parents, dump-it-and-let-it-cook dinners can save dinner time!
.This can be made with frozen or fresh chicken; if you make too much, the leftovers are perfect for another dinner or lunch. 4 ingredient crockpot chicken recipes are some of my favorites, I love being able to put the ingredients in the Crockpot and have the meal ready for a busy night with no extra effort.
10 Quart Crockpot

I have a collection of crockpots as well as recipes. I love my 8-quart crockpot the most. The name of my game is to make the most food at a time and have leftovers. This will also work in a 6-quart crockpot reasonably easily.
Crockpot Ranch Chicken Ingredients:
Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts– You could use thighs, but the mixture will be greaser from the fat of the chicken. Bone-in chicken is also available, but you must pick off the meat from the bone and be careful of bones falling into the mixture.
Cream of Chicken Soup– I have also made this with cream of potato before. You can use cream of mushroom, but that is not one my family likes.
Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning– You can use packets or dry ranch seasoning from a container to make this. I have a container of dry ranch seasoning because of how much we use. If you want Homemade Ranch Seasoning is amazing in this dish!

How To Make Slow Cooker Ranch Chicken:
Turn your crockpot on low.
Spray Crockpot with a non-stick spray or line with a crockpot liner; trust me this step makes cleanup a breeze.
Crockpot Liners
Mix the cream of chicken, milk, ranch powder, salt, and pepper together in the crockpot.
I use a one-to-one ratio for milk and soup. I use a can of soup paired with milk, depending on how much chicken I make. Let the mixture sit for about 30 minutes on low.

Place chicken breast in the mixture and leave on low for 3-6 hours; this cooking time depends on how hot or fast your slow cooker cooks.

Be sure to use a meat thermometer to ensure the meat is cooked all the way through, and your breasts will fall apart when they are done.

I also take easy dinner to the next level and serve this up with rice from a rice cooker!! I mean, is there a better sight than two appliances making your dinner with little effort? My Aroma rice cooker is still going strong after 10 years!

How To Store Leftover Crockpot Ranch Chicken
Store in the fridge in an airtight container for three days.
I have not frozen this before, but If you are to freeze it, make sure there is plenty of sauce with the chicken in the air-tight container, which is thawed before reheating.
Storing leftovers properly requires the right tools! My preferred storage method is if the leftovers can be sealed in a food saver. If not, then an air-tight container or Ziploc bag for the fridge is the way I go. The airtight container or a freezer Ziploc bag are the next best bet for freezing the leftovers. I also use a food scale to measure portions into serving sizes.
What To Serve With Crock Pot Ranch Chicken
Serve Over: White Rice, Brown Rice, Garlic Butter Egg Noodles, Cauliflower Rice, Baked Potatoes
Bread: Cheesy Garlic Pull Apart Bread, Garlic Parmesan Bisucti Pull Part Bread, English Muffin Garlic Cheese Bread, Easy Cheesy Monkey Bread, Corn Bread
Side Dishes: Air Fryer Bacon Asparagus, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Oven Roasted Baby Potatoes, Air Fryer Brussell Sprouts, Green Beans, Ceasar Salad, Acorn Squash, Green Salad, Baked Sweet Potatoes, Air Fryer Broccoli, Grilled Zucchini, Grilled Corn On The Cob, Air Fryer Zucchini Chips, Macaroni And Cheese, Broccoli Salad, Cole Slaw

I’m definitely going to be adding this recipe to my menu plan this week!
ummmmm, sounds yummy, but where is the Hidden Valley introduced? mixed w/milk & soup or as a coating?
Added it into the recipe. In with the milk and soup combo. Thank you for pointing that out!
Your cook time says 3-6 hours, that’s quite a span! How long would you say it took for your 8 qt? I also have an 8 qt. Thanks
Alot of the variation in cook time is frozen meat vs thawed meat and knowing how your slow cooker cooks. Mine cooks a bit hot so I normally ended up at about the 4 1/2 hour range. Hope that helps.
Mix the ranch seasoning packet with the soup and milk then add chicken
Have you ever tried it with the chicken starting out as frozen? Do u recommend a cooking time if they are frozen to begin with?
I have a girlfriend who has and says it takes about a bit longer, she only cooks with frozen chicken in the crock pot. I would be sure to make you keep an eye on them and double check the temperature when you think they are done.
What’s the green season ing on the chicken?
For your chicken ranch crock pot recipe how many chicken breasts should I use. Obviously I’m not a good guesser 🙂 thanks!!
I was wondering the same thing. I only have a little crock pot for basically a couple servings. So I was figuring 1 of everything to make it for one person. I like that this is so simple. Will definitely have to try it soon.
The recipe says 5 boneless skinless chicken breast.
I do about 2-3 chicken breasts in the crock pot depending on their size.
When do you shredded the chicken
I make mine in my crock pot in bulk and freeze it out. I put the directions to it in this post -> https://cookeatgo.com/crock-pot-shredded-chicken/ hope that helps!!
I just realized I responded with the wrong answer!! When you pull the chicken breast from the crock pot mine comes apart easy and we normally just squish it with a fork and it instantly shreds.
Thanks I’m going to make this tonight thanks a lot
Sounds wonderfully easy and fast!
Sounds like a wonderful recipe! Pinning this one for later! Thanks for sharing it! ~Rhonda
Let me know what you think! It was delicious!
Yum! This looks absolutely delicious! I am going to make this as soon as possible! Keep posting great stuff like this… I will absolutely be returning! So good! Thank you!
It’s delicious and easy to make up! Thanks for stopping by!
This is the type of recipe I love! Quick, just a few ingredients, and tasty. I am going to add this to my list of crockpot recipes. I love to use my crockpot for chicken recipes … well, for just about anything tasty and easy.
It’s a recipe all three of my kids will eat!
Can I make this with chicken breast strips ? I have been searching for a good recipe to use ranch seasoning mix in , and to use my crock pot 🙂 It look very yummy I can’t wait to try it !
I think it would work they would just cook faster. It is one of our favorites!
Do you use the whole packet of ranch?
Yes you do. Or measure out the amount out of a large container of the ranch seasoning for a packet.
1 packet of ranch or 3?
1 packet of ranch seasoning.
The recipe says 3 packets. I’m so glad I read the comments.
What kind of milk is used? Evaporated milk? I ask because that is the only canned milk I can think of.
I used 2% milk I just used the cans to measure it. I will edit it to say that.
what size cans did you use?
the cream of chicken cans?
I used the 10.5 ounce can of Cream of Chicken
Chicken and rice is always a favorite around here!
Crock pot recipes are the best, I can’t wait to try this one! I love ranch, so I am sure I will love it!
I’ve updated the printable to say 3 cans of soup. Thank you for pointing out the typo.
Can this recipe be prepped and frozen for cooking in the crockpot later?
Made today for our dinner. I used 2 frozen half chicken breasts, 1 can of soup, 1 can of milk and 1 packet of ranch. 4 hours on low. Delicious! Will definitely make again. So easy.
Way Way to much salt. I put a potatoe in it to soak up some salt. Had open heart surgery and high blood pressure I do not recommend with health problems. But it smelt delicous.
The good thing about recipes is you can alter them to your needs. You don’t have to use salt. Also look for reduced sodium when choosing the cream of chicken. And you can use less ranch seasoning if needed.
Can you use liquid ranch dressing if you don’t have the dry?
I wouldn’t, maybe mix some in at the end but I am not sure how it would do in the heat that long.
Just ran across this recipe in my saved pages. Just trying to clarify in my mind, when you say 5 chicken breasts, do you mean a whole breast or a split chicken breast? Sometimes they seem to be used interchangeably.
I use boneless breasts so 5 breasts out of a package of fresh breasts.
