Crockpot Sloppy Joes, I mean is there more fall food? I love to use my crockpot when we are tailgating or having a quick easy dinner.  No need to have sloppy joes out of a can when you can make them in the crockpot easily.

Now as a sports mom, I have to make dinners that can be ready either before or after practice or for the girls to dish themselves while I am gone. Sloppy joes are one of those easy dinners, but making them is easy enough to do instead of using store-bought or mixes.

Cooked Ground Beef In Containers Before Freezing

Take a lot of prep work out of weeknight dinners and precook and freeze your cooked ground beef! Pull and defrost the ground beef to put in recipes like this for an easy weeknight dinner! (If you aren’t sure how to best do this, check out Freezing Cooked Ground Beef)

Crockpot Sloppy Joes Ingredients:

  • Ground Beef– The ground beef must be fully cooked and drained of grease before starting the recipe.
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Ketchup
  • Brown Sugar
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Dijon Mustard
  • Smoked Paprika– You can use regular I just like the hint of smoke.
  • Cheese
  • Buns

How To Make Crockpot Sloppy Joes:

Start out by cooking your ground beef if you need to and drain to remove the grease.

Spray your crockpot with a nonstick spray, or put it in a crockpot liner bag.  (If you didn’t know the liners are a thing for easy cleaning up grab some -> here on Amazon) (I also used a 4 Quart Crockpot to make mine in like this one -> here)

Dump everything into your crockpot.

Tomato Sauce, Ketchup, sugars, and spices in crockpot for sloppy joes

You can change up the spices to the sloppy joes if you want, but because I was cooking mainly for the kids I opted to keep them semi-bland.  You could easily add cayenne pepper or a hot sauce if you want a bit more kick to the sloppy joes.

Stir everything well and turn your crockpot on low.

You can stir occasionally if you want to if not, just allow it to cook on low for 4-6 hours.

How to Store Crockpot Sloppy Joes

You can store the leftovers in the fridge or freeze them leftovers into individual servings or a family batch for another time.

Storing leftovers properly requires the right tools! My preferred storage method is if the leftovers can be sealed in a food saver. If not, then an air-tight container or Ziploc bag for the fridge is the way I go. The air-tight container and a freezer Ziploc bag are the next best bet for freezing the leftovers. I also use a food scale to measure portions into serving sizes.
