My favorite way to make Apsaparagus is Bacon Wrapped Asparagus, but Kylie has always loved oven-roasted asparagus. This was my first time making it; I was shocked at how easy it was. , but when she tries something at a friend’s house, we usually end up recreating it at home. I won’t complain since asparagus contains fiber, vitamins A, C, and K.
baked cheesy asparagus ingredients
Asparagus– Fresh Asparagus will work best for this recipe; you can get it at the grocery store or a farm stand. Canned asparagus or frozen asparagus will not work very well for this recipe.
Parmesan Cheese– Grated parmesan cheese will work best; the Kraft Parmesan cheese will not melt well over the asparagus, and trust me, you want good melty parmesan cheese for this cheesy asparagus.
Olive Oil– You can use Garlic Olive Oil; you won’t need much.
Garlic Salt– Regular or sea salt can also be used instead of garlic salt.
How To Make asparagus in the oven
First, you will need to trim your asparagus. The easiest way to do this is to snap the asparagus where it gives; I typically do this by bending both ends to find its break point. If you want, you can do a knife to make it an even line.

Rinse your asparagus off and allow it to dry. I tend to do this in an over-the-sink strainer, and this removes any dirt that may be left on the stalk of the asparagus and the feathery part.
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Line a cookie sheet with tin foil. You don’t have a cookie sheet; you can use a pizza pan. In a pinch, you can use parchment paper in place of tinfoil.

Spread your asparagus out on the tin foil, and I had them spread out on both sides of the pan. You will not want them bunched up right on each other for roasting.
Drizzle your olive oil over the top of the asparagus.
Sprinkle to taste with garlic salt, and pepper.
Place your pan of asparagus in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.

Remove your pan at the ten-minute mark and sprinkle with your parmesan cheese.
Place back in the oven and bake for five more minutes.
Remove and serve.

Tips for cooking asparagus in oven
Before putting it in, you will want the oven to be fully preheated; a higher temperature will roast the fastest.
If you roast the asparagus at 350 degrees, it will take longer, but it won’t turn out as crisp.
Waiting ten minutes to put the cheese on will allow the asparagus to roast correctly, but also, the cheese won’t burn from being in the oven too long with the asparagus.
Do not use a deep roasting pan or cake pan. You want the lower-height edges so that the air can circulate better over the asparagus to heat it.
How To Store oven baked asparagus
Allow the leftover oven-baked asparagus to cool properly, then move it into an airtight container or bag. Store in the fridge for up to three days.
How To Reheat Leftover oven baked asparagus
The easiest way to reheat leftover asparagus is in the microwave or an air fryer. If you want, you can heat the oven to 400 degrees and reheat it that way. Either way, I recommend a smidge more cheese to melt; trust me, it will be tasty.
