These Homemade Meatballs In Spaghetti Sauce are the perfect way to change up spaghetti night in your house! Now I tend to use ground beef or frozen meatballs for our spaghetti night, so when Isabella wanted to learn to make meatballs, I was all game for it. We will probably make a larger batch of meatballs next time to freeze some for later on.

Now we took bits and pieces from other recipes to build up what my kids like. Mushrooms and olives are almost always a no go for my kids but these were small enough that no one else noticed them. I love how this dinner turned out and how much fun Isabella had while making the meatballs and the sauce.

How To Make Homemade Meatballs In Spaghetti Sauce
In a bowl mix together your ground sausage and ground beef while adding to taste your garlic salt, pepper, and oregano till it is well mixed.
In a big skillet pan on low heat put in your Spaghetti sauce, sour cream, bay leaves, mushrooms, black olives, chopped red onion, minced garlic, oregano, basil, bay leaves, ground salt, and ground pepper.
Continue to stir your sauce while everything cooks down together.
Rub your hands with olive oil and roll out your meatballs.

I placed my homemade meatballs on parchment paper until my sauce has cooked down to cook in the sauce.
Start a pot of water boiling for your pasta, I had a ton of fettucini noodles so we used those noodles.
Place your meatballs in your sauce and allow them to cook. Isabella insisted on rolling meatballs for cooking but if they are covered they should cook just fine.

We did use a meat thermometer to make sure our homemade meatballs were cooked all the way thru.
Once you can tell your meatballs are close to being done start your pasta boiling and strain when done.

Serve and enjoy!! We paired ours up with corn on the cob, garlic bread, and our guests had cottage cheese with theirs as well!!
