Crock Pot Loaded Baked Beans are a family favorite! It finally feels like fall in the Pacific Northwest; the rain has returned. It was a long hot, dry summer, and this was one of the first times I was so excited to see the rain. That means it’s crockpot season again.

Thank you to Bush’s Beans for sponsoring this Crock Pot Loaded Baked Beans recipe and this post.Â
These Crock Pot Loaded Baked Beans are a family favorite! Last winter, a friend brought over these beans, and the kids have loved them since then. I love that they will eat this since it’s packed full of protein between the beans and beef, but we had to tweak it and add bacon since it’s my family. However, my favorite part is how easy they are to make!

How To Make Crock Pot Cowboy Beans:
Brown up your hamburger and cook up your bacon. Be sure to remove the grease from both.
Take a lot of prep work out of weeknight dinners and precook and freeze your cooked ground beef! Pull and defrost the ground beef from the freezer to put in this recipe for an easy weeknight dinner! (If you aren’t sure how to best do this, check out Freezing Cooked Ground Beef)

Spray your crockpot with a nonstick spray. I used my 8-quart crockpot ( you can grab one -> here on Amazon) to create this, so I would have a lot of room for mixing the ingredients.

Open your cans and dump all the beans in your crockpot.
Next, add in the rest of the ingredients and stir.

Stir the crockpot and turn your slow cooker to low.

Cook on low for 4-6 hours and serve!!

Yummy! My family and I love beans! Your Crock Pot Loaded Baked Beans looks and sounds absolutely delicious!
I am always looking for quick and easy recipes to take with us on the road when we travel for hockey. This looks like something I need to try.
We do baked beans in the crock pot all the time! I use a similar recipe. Always a crowd pleaser!
This looks like a great recipe for fall! I love crockpot cooking. I am vegetarian, but Boca crumbles could be substituted for ground beef.
Mmmm this looks really delicious. This would be a really yummy side dish! I am going to have to try to make this the next time I am tailgating.
Tailgating. This crock pot bean recipe looks great for every weekend! I love beans. I think I will try this one next weekend. Thanks for the easy recipe.
I have not had baked beans since I was a kid, but I know many people who love to eat them. I will have to share with the family so they can make your loaded baked beans right up!
These look terrific. Can they be frozen?????
Omg can we say yum?!? I just love baked beans. Definitely giving your recipe a try! Deliciousness
Sounds so good , going to try it, love baked beans. !!!!! Your recipie sounds yummy !!!!!!!!!
I make these, but add Lima and kidney beans.
At get together they go over really good. Everyone likes them!
I love using my Crock Pot and also love making new recipes. I will be putting this one on my list to make.
Yum! My husband loves baked beans. I will have to make this recipe for him!
Just curious… isn’t a pound of bacon a whole lot of bacon to go in there? Do you chop it in tiny pieces? It still sounds like a lot. Thanks!
It makes a lot of beans. I chop the bacon up and brown n a pound. You could do less my family is just a bacon fanatic so we do a lot of it. I also use thick bacon so a lb doesn’t seem like a lot of slices compared to thinly sliced bacon.
I made these last night, absolutely wonderful.
I substituted great northern beans for the butter beans and i chopped an Onion and cooked it with the ground beef in place of the onion powder.
Scrumptious, we’ll definitely make again.
Mine are cooking now, and that is exactly what I did. Can’t wait to try them.
Exactly what I was thinking-onion was missing!!
The onion is a great idea im making money right now I think I might at a onion 🌰 in there😀😀
We make a recipe very similar to this called Calico Beans and we also love them over spaghetti.
Hi, I have a question. I am Canadian and as far as I can see I haven’t seen any Bush beans here. So for the can of butter beans. We do have Bake & Chilli. Other cans we have are Tomato beans, maple beans regular beans and brown sugar. Which would be best to replace the butter one. I am so making this. I love baked beans. I so miss my mom’s beans. Thank you.
I have used Canneloni and or Great Northern beans
Big crowd pleaser…and everyone sneaks in the fridge and eats them cold the next day!
I going to try this it looks good
Do you drain the beans
I have made these for years but I put in Lima beards drained and pinto beans. Now I am Hungary for them but this batch is too much for my husband and I.
Many of your recipes look delicious! It would be very helpful if you would include nutritional information so people like me, with diabetes, or anyone with medical conditions, etc could know if the recipes are appropriate for them.
Thank you!
I have made a variation of this recipe (which we call calico beans) for over 40 years. Everyone loves it and it usually always shows up at family potlucks. I began using 1/2 pound hamburger and 1/2 pound breakfast sausage(I use Jimmy Dean) years ago and it definitely adds flavor. I sometimes use green Lima beans, other times I use the large butter beans, but I always use pork & beans and kidney beans. You just cannot go wrong with this recipe, it’s my favorite. I also sometimes bake them in oven, then transfer to Crock-Pot to keep warm while serving. You get a depth to flavor in oven cooking. Do what works best for you at that time, they will always be yummy!
I never thought of the breakfast sausage before!! I am going to have to try that! I am such a crock pot girl but I trying them in the oven sounds good too!
I make that and we call them Cowboy Beans!
Oh yes, bacon is a must! I also use thick cut and you can never have too much bacon!
Do you pre cook the bacon?
I do just a little bit! It will cook some in the crock pot but not enough to wear I felt it would be safe to serve and eat.
This looks delicious! How is your favorite way to serve it….plain, over spaghetti, etc?
We eat it as is. My daughter has put it on hot dogs before to make a bean dog.
Do you know the WW points and serving size?
We call these beans Cowboy beans. I cook this all the time. I also add a little red peppers flakes to mine.
Oh I never thought of red pepper flakes! I have a girlfriend in Penn that said she calls them Cowboy beans too!
Should the canned beans get drained and rinsed before adding to the crockpot?
I don’t drain them and rinse them but you could if you want too. I think the juices add a bit of flavor.
Sounds delicious, BUT my family and I do not like white beans. Could black beans or another kind of canned beans be substituted for them?
You could just omit them. Maybe try a chili bean in its place but it may change the taste of them.
Can we freeze them in serving portions. And when we want to serve them, would we thaw
them in the fridge and reheat in the mike ?
Yes!! I do this quite a bit and freeze it in portions that fit in my little crockpot to rewarm up, and lets face it make the house smell good!
I make this for dinner. make white rice to put this over
People with diabetes: You already know that carbs are bad for you, sugar is also. You just need to watch your portion. I wouldn’t serve my self any more than one cup, to be on the safe side. Pick whether you want this yummy nutritional side dish or dessert in the same meal…for example.
Can you cook the ground beef in the crock pot with the beans instead of cooking it first then adding to the pot? I think it would add flavor.
