Pillsbury Biscuit Donuts are amazing, and they were so simple to make. I was surprised at how easy and great-tasting they were!! I love they can be made on the stovetop, in the air fryer, or in a waffle maker; over the years, I have loved to find new Pillsbury biscuit recipes; they are so easy, and they always taste amazing.

I used icing from my  Crock Pot Cinnamon Rolls, which was the perfect icing for these! I used an Apple Corer and a shot glass to create the holes in our donuts!  The kids had a blast icing and putting sprinkles on the doughnuts.  I first shared this in Sept of 2013, and they are still a family favorite!

Pillsbury Biscuit Donuts Ingredients:

How To Make Doughnut Icing:

Mix 1 1/3 cups of powdered sugar with 3 Tablespoons of milk in a bowl. If the icing is too thick, you can add more milk to thin it out.

*To make chocolate icing, add a small amount of baking cocoa to the icing mixture*

How To Make Pillsbury Biscuit Donuts Fried On The Stovetop

Begin heating your vegetable oil in a pot on your stove. I warmed mine up on medium heat, and it was hot enough to cook the donuts.

To shape, the donuts flatten biscuits and use something to put a hole in the middle of the biscuit. An apple corer or a shot glass are great to make the hole.

You can tear up the biscuits and ball them up for doughnut holes.

Carefully place your biscuit in the oil; I use a metal strainer/skimmer with a handle to set the biscuits in to flip the donuts and to remove them from the oil.

After about 3-4 minutes check the biscuit and flip them to make sure both sides cook.

Remove and place them onto mine on a cookie rack on a cookie sheet to drain excess oil.

Once dripped or partially cooled, use a fork to roll them into the icing and then place them back on the rack to let extra icing drip off.

You can also sprinkle the doughnuts!

**If you don’t want to do icing on your doughnut’s ice, you can also roll the warm doughnuts into cinnamon sugar.**

How To Make Donuts With Biscuits With An Air Fryer

Spray your Air Fryer racks with a nonstick spray.

Use a shot glass or an apple corer to cut a hole in the center of the biscuit.

I have the PowerXL 8 Quart Air Fryer I received to review and love; the racks work amazingly well for cooking for a bigger family.

Spread on your Air Fryer rack and cook at 350 degrees for 5 minutes.

How To Make Donuts With Biscuits And Waffle Maker:

Start by spraying your waffle maker with cooking spray.

Plugin your waffle maker and turn it on if needed.  You can make these in a large waffle maker, but I did these in a Dash mini waffle maker and it worked out perfectly!

Repeat with the remaining biscuits.

Dip at least one side of each donut into the glaze. And place on a baking rack to allow the icing to drip off. I did both sides for a sweeter doughnut. Top with sprinkles if you want.
