These Weight Watchers Lemon Muffins recipes have been my family’s favorite for years! I have been on WW since 2010, Weight Watchers. Now I love that the program is food that my whole family will eat and is everyday food I choose.

I am sure you know if you have been doing Weight Watchers that there are times you make something that your family doesn’t like but that you do. Luckily these are not that way, and the kids even love these muffins when we make them. I found this originally in a Weight Watcher support Facebook group.

WHAT IS Weight Watchers?
When starting a new weight loss program or diet change, consult a doctor or physician about personal health concerns. It is a good idea to have blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and hormones checked at a physical before and during being on the WW program.
New to Weight Watchers?? Also known as WW, a weight loss program uses points assigned to food to track and lose weight. When you sign up, you take an assessment that will assign you a point value to eat daily and a weekly allowance. You can carry over 4 points from the day into your weekly budget, which is handy when you need more points.
I have been on Weight Watchers since 2011. They have had Points Plus Value, WW Smartpoints, Blue Plan, Green Plan, Purple Plan, WW Personal Points, and now Weight Watchers Points. The new Weight Watchers Simplified plan is the new program launched in November 2022 similar to previous plans like WW Smartpoints, with some color plans. ( You can see the Weight Watchers Zero Point Foods 2023 -> here)
No matter the WW plan, they work to help you learn healthy eating habits. I have hit lifetime goal weight several times but stopped operating the plan and tracking, so the weight does creep back on. You stay on as a lifetime member, working towards your goal. Head on over ->here to get a month for free.
Weight Watchers Lemon Muffins Recipe Ingredients:
- Water
- Lemon Greek Yogurt– This has gotten hard to find, but you can use a no-fat greek yogurt or low-calorie greek yogurt. The no fat will have points on the current plan.
- Lemon cake mix– You can do a different flavor if you can find a lemon greek yogurt; if not, lemon flavoring maybe make up for not having a lemon cake mix.
How To Make Lemon Weight Watchers Muffins:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
Take a paper towel and wet it with vegetable oil
Rub the Muffin Pan with the paper towel to grease the pan so that your muffins will pop out

In a bowl, mix all three ingredients until well mixed; it’s a weird light, fluffy dough and smells amazing.
Using a cookie scoop, spoon the dough into the muffin pan until all 24 are full; these do rise a bit, so don’t fill up all the way

Set in the oven and bake for about 15-22 minutes depending on how hot your oven cooks
Remove from oven when you can remove a clean toothpick and allow to cool for 10 minutes

I remove my muffins by popping up from the bottom; they typically pop out clean!
Place the muffins on a baking rack to help cool off before you bag them up! These do tend to hold the heat, so be sure to cool them properly! I have about ten different wire racks; when I go on a baking frenzy, it’s really handy to have a lot of them! I use mine at least once a week!

Regrease your pan and bake the rest of the batter. I get from 32-40 muffins depending on how full the cups of the muffin pan are before baking
Pop them out and enjoy!

Lemon Weight Watchers Muffins WW Breakdown:
Now with any Weight Watcher recipe, be sure to replug your ingredients on the recipe for proper point calculation and tracking. I have included screenshots from the recipe builder on WW when I had 37 muffins in a batch. Mine worked out to two weight watchers points per mini muffin.

How To store lemon yogurt muffins
Store in an air-tight bag on the counter for up to five days. You can freeze these in an air-tight container for up to 90 days.
Storing leftovers properly requires the right tools! My preferred storage method is if the leftovers can be sealed in a food saver. If not, then an air-tight container or Ziploc bag for the fridge is the way I go. The air-tight container and a freezer Ziploc bag are the next best bet for freezing the leftovers. I also use a food scale to measure portions into serving sizes.

I would love to try these – I count calories, not WW points. I am sure this must be a typo in the recipe, because surely one little muffin can’t have 2,232 calories! Can you please advise as to the correct calorie count? Thanks so much 🙂
Holli says
Because she’s using the WW’s calculator, that is the total for the entire batch. You would just need to divide by how many muffins it makes for you (same for fat, protein, etc.). In her case, with 32 minis, it would be around 69-70 calories each. Hope that helps. 🙂
tonya says
I have type 2 diabetes would these muffins be diabetic friendly
Laurie says
I would say no, because the cake mix has sugar in it.
Kathy says
How many carbs are in 1
weight watcher newbie says
there are sugar free cake mix options 🙂
Vickie Sanders says
I’d say yes they are as you probably count carbs more than sugar and they would be low in carbs to be 2 WW points.
Amy says
I made these tonight, they are wonderful! So easy to make have an actual muffin consistency. I calculated my WW points and they came out to 2 points each but I believe thats because I had larger muffins.
Niki says
These muffins are so good and so easy! My four year old asks for them constantly!

Wow, these look so easy! And I love lemon anything, so I know I would love these! I would probably have to hide them from myself because eating them all at once would negate the WW value… 😉

These were amazing. As a new member I’m so glad to find recipes like this! one note: i am going to add some real lemon and a tsp of lemon zest next time to give them a bit more zing. Poppy seeds would also be nice.
I calculated the smartpoints at 2 for 32 muffins. Mine made closer to 44 and it was still 2 pts so I’m going to full them slightly fuller next time to get more out of my 2 pts!

Hi Jenny,
Oh… muffins! I haven’t made any for a long time, perhaps I will have to change that!

Also I made mini chocolate muffins with chocolate cake mix and a can of pumpkin with 1/4 to 1/2 cup of water. They were awesome. Made 36 in a batch.
Jenny says
If you are a weight watchers member it’s part of the E-tools. Hope that helps!
Sherry says
Quick question about the lemon muffins. I don’t like Greek yogurt. Can I use regular yogurt to make these with?
Jenny says
You should be able to but it will change the muffins a lot.
Honestly I am not a greek yogurt fan and you can’t tell that’s what these are made of.

oops – I did 2 cups of water by accident… I’ll let you know what hapens
Jenny says
Oh no did they turn out okay??
Cathy says
I made this recipe, and they are divine! According to my WW recipe builder, the cake mix (whole box) is 7 smart points and the fat free lemon yogurt I used is 2 sp. So, at a total of 9 points for the batch, that’s a counting value of 1 point each. I made 21 regular-sized muffins, and my hubby loves them too!
Jenny says
Oh what brand was that. Love they turned out great for you they are a family favorite!
Cher says
Sounds good but if these are made in a mini pan and they are one bite not worth it to me. I will find something else thanks but they do look good. Might try them for a brunch or something like that or a ladies luncheon.. Thanks
Kristen says
Thanks for this! I make these all the time! They are so good!
Lynn says
I made these and they are really good, but for me anything Lemon is good my husband really likes them too. When I made them I ended up with 48 mini muffins. I tried to enter this into my Weight Watchers app but, didn’t get the info off of the box that has sugar amounts and other required info to get the right calculations. Still want to say thank you for the recipe.
patricia woyahn says
I AM A DIABETIC, COULD I USE A SUGAR FREE WHITE CAKE MIX ?
Jenny says
I am sure you could! Let me know how the taste turns out I have never tried a sugar free cake mix before.
Susan says
Do you a mixer to mix them together or spoon?
Jenny says
I mix with a whisk for the batter.
chris says
I’m trying to figure out the points for this. Why would you plug it in as 10 servings?
Thanks!
Christine says
Hi there just curious what size yogurt you are using. I wasnt sure if small size or the larger tub.
Thank you!
Jenny says
Its the small container that is normally right around a dollar for the greek yogurt.
Myriam Audet says
Hi,
I am from Canada…
Can you tell me the ouces of the yogurt, as we do not have the same here ?
Thank you so much!
Jenny says
They are a 5.3 oz Cup or about a 1/4 cup too. Hope that helps!
Tonya says
I wonder how this would work with fresh blueberries added??
Jenny says
I bet it would be amazing!! I need to try that out.
Kh says
Added blueberries this time! Delicious!
Jenny says
Oh yum!
Joanne Hawkins says
Hi
Can you freeze the muffins?
Jenny says
I have not tried to but I am sure you can I would lay them flat in a bag or spread out on a tray to flash freeze them so they don’t stick to each other.
Gail Scott says
Can you use lemon pie filling with the cake mix?
Jenny says
I am sure you could but I would watch the cook time. It would also drastically change the points as well I believe.
animal jam says
I’m trying to figure out the points for this. Why would you plug it in as 10 servings?
Debbie Crocker says
I have figured this using smart points & come up with 7.2 points. 7 points for cake mix & .2 for yogurt. Not sure how everyone is coming up with lesser points. If you take the individual serving info on the side of the box it is for 10 servings. If you multiply by 10 & divide by 24 or 48 I get 7 points.
Carolyn says
Hello I know someone already asked this but to confirm just 1/4 cup of yogurt
?
Jenny says
I always use the single cup of greek yogurt. I believe that is about 1/4 cup.
Jane says
I would like to make these muffins in a regular size muffin pan instead of a mini size. My question is how long should I bake them
Jenny says
I would start at ten minutes and keep an eye on them. Also make sure you replug your WW points with the new serving number
Gina says
I’ve tried these MANY times and they are delicious! That being said I do you have a question for all of you out there….
Has any one tried using muffin liners? Or do you believe it would stick?
I don’t want to ruin the entire batch of that delicious mix!
Thank you in advance!
Donna says
Just made in muffin paper liners and they worked just fine. These are very good. I put some chopped walnuts on top of some. Although, I know that changes the points/calorie count, gave it a nice change. This recipe is a keeper. Thanks!
Helen Logan says
My measuring cup says 1/4 cup is 2 ounces. This is confusing!
