Breakfast Pizza Ingredients

This recipe uses simple, basic ingredients you might even have on-hand already.

Crescent Rolls – This recipe uses an 8-ounce package of crescent rolls. It contains 8 rolls. Do not separate the rolls. You’ll use the full sheet of rolls.

Sausage Crumbles – I used pizza sausage crumbles, but you can cook and strain breakfast sausage.

Bacon Bits – I used store-bought bacon bits, but you can use freshly cooked and crumbled bacon pieces.

Shredded Hashbrowns – These will need to be thawed if you purchase them frozen. I bought refrigerated ones found in the dairy department.

Mild Cheddar Cheese – I use freshly shredded because it melts better. You can use other variations of cheese as well.

Large Eggs– I use large eggs for all my recipes.

Milk– I like whole milk for the best results, but you can use lower fat milk too.

Parmesan Cheese

Salt and Black Pepper

Substitutions & Alterations

These are some of my best tips for using substitute ingredients for your breakfast pizza.

  • You can use a regular homemade or store-bought pizza crust for this in place of the crescent rolls.
  • Cheese – Feel free to use your favorite type of shredded, melty cheese. Mozzarella and provolone would go great with this.
  • Turkey Sausage can be substituted for regular sausage

  • Diced Canadian bacon or ham
  • Plant-based sausage and bacon can be used for a vegetarian option.
  • Egg Whites can replace whole eggs for a slightly healthier option

How To Make Breakfast Pizza Using Crescent Rolls

To make this breakfast pizza using crescent rolls, follow these simple step-by-step instructions.

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

Grease a 9X13 pan or a small sheet pan.I used crisco but you can also use a nonstick spray.

Crescent dough pinched together in a casserole dish

Spread the crescent roll dough whole into the pan. Pinch together the seams of the crescents. If using a 9X13, there will be excess dough on one side; that’s fine.

Sprinkle the sausage and bacon bits onto the dough.

Next, spread the hashbrowns over the meat and the dough.

Spread your cheddar cheese over the casseroles.

Mix the milk, eggs, salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese in a bowl. I used a Pyrex Measuring cup to make pouring easier.

Tips & Tricks

  • Do not separate the crescent rolls. You want the whole sheet intact. Pinch together the seams of the crescent rolls when you roll it out so they stay together. If you are using a 9X13 casserole or baking dish, there will be excess dough on the sides; that’s fine.
  • Start the breakfast pizza the night before by cooking your sausage and making your egg mixture. Store them in the fridge until you are ready to use the next morning.

Toppings For Crescent Roll Breakfast Pizza

Like any other dish, you can always dress up this breakfast pizza even more. Next time, I plan to dip this in a breakfast gravy!

  • Salsa or pico de gallo
  • Small diced bell peppers
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Mushrooms
  • Spinach
  • Onion or scallion
  • Smashed avocados
  • Breakfast gravy
  • More cheese
  • Pizza sauce
  • Hot sauce
  • BBQ sauce

What To Serve With Crescent Roll Breakfast Pizza

How To Store Leftover Breakfast Pizza

Store remaining breakfast pizza in the refrigerator. Cover tightly or wrap individual slices in plastic wrap or place in an airtight container. Stored properly, breakfast pizza should be good for up to 4 days.

You can also freeze leftovers for up to 3 months. Let the breakfast pizza cool completely before wrapping in plastic and then also wrapping in aluminum foil or placing in a freezer-safe bag.

Storing leftovers properly requires the right tools! My preferred storage method is if the leftovers can be sealed in a food saver. If not, then an air-tight container or Ziploc bag for the fridge is the way I go. The airtight container or a freezer Ziploc bag are the next best bet for freezing the leftovers. I also use a food scale to measure portions into serving sizes.

How To Reheat Leftover Breakfast Casserole

Reheat breakfast pizza in the microwave on high in 30 bursts until heated through.

You can also reheat thawed leftovers in a 350° oven for about 10 minutes until warmed all the way through.
