How To Make Homemade Hash Browns:
Rinse and peel your potatoes. You don’t have to peel them, but my kids prefer them to be peeled.
Pat dry off your potatoes after they are peeled.

Use a food processor to shred your potatoes using the shredded cheese blade. A high-quality one is worth the money it can help you to save so much money in the long run.
Once your potatoes are shredded into slices, place them into an over-the-sink strainer and rinse them off. This helps to remove the excess starch from the starchy potatoes.
You can also do this with a bowl of cold water to help remove the starch.

I usually let mine chill in the basket for about ten minutes and keep pushing down on them to help strain out more of the water. You can put them in a salad spinner as well to help them to dry faster.
On a big plate, lay out paper towels and then scoop your shredded potatoes onto the paper towels.
Take another paper towel and press down to squeeze more water out. You may have to repeat this process several times, which helps them cook faster.

Now you can make these in a pan on the stove, but if you are making a huge batch, I use my electric griddle. It makes it so much easier, and it heats up evenly the whole time. Plus, you can cook eggs, bacon, gravy, and others on the stovetop as well.
Drizzle Avocado oil on the grill and allow it to heat up. You will want this on medium-high heat to cook the hash browns.

Place your potatoes on the electric griddle or in your pan and season to taste with Johnny’s seasoning salt, garlic salt, and salt and pepper.
Use a Spatula to flip around the hashbrowns until they are golden brown.

Serve and enjoy!! To get crispy hash browns allow to cook longer in the skillet.
I love to add mine to a protein-filled breakfast! It’s just the perfect combination, plus it will keep me full until dinner when we have a late breakfast!
