These Instant Pot Pork Tacos, AKA Instant Pot Pork Carnitas, are guaranteed to be a hit with the whole family!! One of our favorite dinners is Taco Tuesday; the kids love to have tacos. Now I must confess I bought my Instant Pot after Christmas and hadn’t used it yet.

Now let me preface this by saying I love chicken and beef tacos, but I was recently introduced to pork tacos. I know, shocker, but I love to live in my comfort zone. I have to thank my girlfriend, who walked me through how to do this in the Instant Pot. We both laughed when I said I was silly for being scared of the Instant Pot for so long.

How To Make Instant Pot Pork Tacos:
Now the critical part of cooking with Instant Pot is you need at least 1 cup of liquid or your pot won’t pressurize.
Make sure everything is ready to go with your Instant Pot. The only Instant Pot Accessories you need is the silver cooking pot and the lid.
Put your pot into your Instant Pot and add your 1 cup of chicken broth.
Next set your Instant Pot to the Saute mode.

Slice open your Smithfield Boneless Pork Shoulder Seasoned Carnitas Pork Shoulder package and dump the contents in. I made sure I squeezed out all the seasonings and juices out the packaging.
Allow the meat to saute and start to brown, it happens a lot faster than you would think.
Be sure to flip the meat so the other side browns as well.
Once your pork is browned press the pause/cancel button.
Next press the manual button and then the plus sign to set the time to 30 minutes and seal up the lid.

Make sure the valve is set on sealed and allow to cook.
Once the time is done move the valve on the top to release the last bit of pressure and will go into keep warm mode.
Remove the cooked meat into a bowl and shred the meat for tacos.

Now a good pair of meat claws are a must-have in your kitchen! I have to say I use them so often and it really is a time saver for me.
Serve and enjoy!!! We served ours on yellow corn tortillas with lettuce, cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, Spanish rice, and beans!

We typically have ground beef and/or ground turkey tacos. I buy my tortillas from the best Mexican market in town and against doctors orders, I fry the shells. I’ve read lots about the Insta Pot and I’m eager to get one and try this recipe. Your tacos look delicious and very filling.
