- Butter– Either salted butter or unsalted butter will work for this. You will want the butter to be softened, so I leave mine out of the fridge the night before.

- Buttermilk– I make mine most of the time, take two cups of milk and add two Tablespoons of white vinegar and allow it to set for a bit.

How to make Coca-cola Chocolate Cake
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour an 11×17-inch pan or roasting pan. I did use a Pyrex 4.8 Quart pan; next time, I will leave some of the batters out as it still overflowed a bit.
Combine the flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, and sugar in a mixing bowl, and set aside.
Heat the butter with the cups of Coca-Cola in a low-heat pan on the stove until the butter has melted.
Next, add eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk to the butter and Coca-Cola mixture, be sure to mix well.
Add the Coca-Cola liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and beat until mixed well.
Pour batter into the baking pan
Bake for 30 minutes.
(You could make two tube pans baked for 60 minutes or 24 cupcakes for 15 minutes.)
How To Make Coca-Cola Chocolate Cake Icing:
In a saucepan, heat together the butter and Coca-Cola. Be sure not to boil.
Add in the remaining ingredients and mix well.
Pour icing over the cake. You must ice this cake warm!

I have made coke cola cake and they are soooo good
Sherry says
Love the cake! I do like coca cola recipes.
Tracy Robertson says
It looks really good! I would like to see the recipe sized for a 9″x 11″ pan though. I don’t have an 11″ x 17″, and that would be a bit much cake for my household of 2.
Bernice says
is 2 cups of butter correct if each stick half a cup
Jenny says
Yes its that much butter in the cake.
Cheryl Lamb says
I would highly question a TBS. of salt.
Thomas Lehart says
A tablespoon of salt sound a lot.should be a teaspoon.
Mrs. Doll says
I made this cake with Root Beer instead of Coca Cola. I also swapped out the buttermilk for root beer and I halfed the recipe. It made a 11×7 rectangle pan, 2 inches deep, which made 16 pieces of cake. I halfed the frosting as well. I was concerned about spending so much butter on this recipe and halfed it to make sure the recipe was a success before committing to more than a pound of butter. I just took the cake out and my house smells amazing. I am frosting it warm and waiting until tomorrow to cut into it.
