Dutch Oven Beef Chili Recipe

This Dutch Oven Beef Chili Recipe isn’t a far-off variation of my crockpot and instant pot beef chili, but I love how warm it made my house. We have already had some cold, rainy days, as well as days with gloomy, cold, and rainy weather. Bonus points, the Dutch oven chili was a favorite of everyone in the house.

When Uno Casa reached out about their Enamel Dutch oven, I knew it would be perfect for making an enamel dutch oven chili recipe! I previously had a 3.5-quart enameled Dutch Oven. But let’s face it, to have leftovers with growing teens, bigger is better!
Dutch Oven Beef Chili Ingredients:
- Ground Beef– The ground beef needs to be fully cooked and drained of grease before starting the recipe.
- Black Beans
- Chili Beans
- Onion– You can also use onion powder if your kids won’t eat onions or chop them larger for kids to pick out.
- Corn-Frozen or canned corn will work in this recipe, and I tend to use canned as the corn is a bit firmer than frozen corn.
- Diced Tomatoes
- Tomato Sauce
- Beef Broth
- Garlic Powder
- Cumin
- Montreal Steak Seasoning
- Salt
- Pepper
- Chili Powder
For a 6-quart Dutch Oven, Double the ingredients listed in the recipe card below.

How To Make Dutch Oven Chili:
I wiped the inside of my Dutch oven with a smidge of olive oil. I am paranoid about burning or having to scrub the pan hard.
Preheat your oven to 275 degrees.
In a pan, brown your ground beef or reheat it. (See my post -> here to see how I prep and freeze cooked ground beef)
Open your can of corn and black beans and strain them. I use an over-the-sink strainer.
Next, open up all the other cans and dump them into your dutch oven. I did not strain the chili beans.
Add all other ingredients to the Dutch oven.
Give everything a thorough stir together in your Dutch oven.

Allow to cook in the oven for at least 2 1/2 hours and stir occasionally. Trust me, your house will smell amazing, and the oven’s warmth will warm it all up.

Serve and enjoy!

Nice dish I did without using chili
It is great but it took less than 4 hours in the oven
