Corned Beef And Cabbage Dutch Oven Recipe! Plus Guinness Beer!

This Guinness corned beef and cabbage dutch oven recipe is now one of my favorite new ways to make corned beef! With St Patrick’s Day around the corner, we had to taste-test some new recipes. We may have family over, so we wanted to perfect the recipe; I have to say I love how the addition of Guinness Blonde Beer gave a nice flavor.

Now I have a 3.5-quart Dutch oven from Kohl’s; this recipe quickly showed me I need a bigger one if I want to have leftovers. I am eying the 7-quart size for my next Dutch oven; while I love my crockpot, I love cooking with the Dutch oven. I took my Crockpot Corned Beef and Cabbage Recipe and gave it a little twist. My kids preferred the corned beef this way vs. the other way.

How to cook corned beef in a Dutch oven
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
Place your corned beef into your Dutch oven. I cut mine in half to make it fit the pan, but if you have a larger Dutch oven, you won’t need to cut your corned beef down.

Pour in your first beer and your cup of broth.
Next, pack in your vegetables around the Corned Beef. Now I did the smaller potatoes because of the size of my Dutch oven, but you can use any size as long as they fit in.
Pour in more beer till you have the amount of liquid you want. Mine was about half a second bottle; you will want the liquid to steam the cabbage later.

Sprinkle the spices that came with the Corned Beef. (If your corned beef didn’t come with a packet, you can order corned beef seasoning) I only used half my packet.
Place into your oven and allow to cook for about 2 hours, and then flip the corned beef over.

Allow the Corned Beef to keep cooking for at least two more hours.
Cut your cabbage into wedges 30 minutes before cooking. ‘
Insert the wedges of cabbage around the Corned Beef in the broth.
Allow the dutch oven to cook for at least another half hour. If it goes, a bit over it won’t affect it much.

Serve and enjoy!
How to Store dutch oven corned beef and cabbage
Store the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. I store mine with some broth to add more flavor and moisture for reheating.
How to Reheat Guinness corned beef and cabbage
My go-to method is to microwave till warm to eat. You can also reuse the crockpot if you want or the oven as well.
