This Corned Beef And Cabbage Dutch Oven Recipe are now one of my favorite new ways to make corned beef! With St Patrick’s Day around the corner, we had to taste-test some new recipes.   We may have family over, so we wanted to perfect the recipe; I have to say I love how the addition of Guinness Blonde Beer gave a nice flavor.

Now I have a 3.5-quart dutch oven from Kohls; this recipe quickly showed me I need a bigger one If I want to have leftovers. I am eying the 7-quart size for my next dutch oven; while I love my crockpot, I love cooking with the dutch oven. I took my Crockpot Corned Beef And Cabbage Recipe and gave it a little twist.  My kids preferred the corned beef this way vs. the other way.

Corned Beef And Cabbage Dutch Oven Ingredients:

  • Corned Beef
  • Corned Beef Seasoning
  • Guinness Beer Blonde
  • Vegetable Broth
  • Red Onions
  • Baby Potatoes
  • Baby Carrots
  • Green Cabbage

Corned Beef And Cabbage Dutch Oven Recipe Directions:

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.

Place your corned beef into your dutch oven. I cut mine in half to make it fit the pan, but if you have a larger dutch oven, you won’t need to cut your corned beef down.

Corned beef in Dutch oven

Pour in your first beer and also your cup of broth as well.

Next, pack in your vegetables around the Corned Beef.  Now I did the smaller potatoes because of the size of my dutch oven, but you can use any size as long as they fit in.

Pour in more beer till you have the amount of liquid you want. Mine was about half of a second bottle; you will want the liquid to steam the cabbage into later.

Sprinkle the spices that came with the Corned Beef. (If your corned beef didn’t come with a packet you can order corned beef seasoning) I only used half my packet.

Place into your oven and allow to cook for about 2 hours and then flip the corned beef over.

Allow the Corned Beef to keep cooking for at least two more hours.

A half-hour before cooking, cut your cabbage into wedges. ‘

Insert the wedges of cabbage around the Corned Beef in the broth.

Allow the dutch oven to cook for at least another half hour. If it goes, a bit over it won’t affect it much.
