These Foil Packet Potatoes Recipe are perfect for making for either grilling or camping! I love that they are easy to make and have so few dishes to clean up afterward! Plus, since it’s individual packets, you can change them to each person’s taste bud preferences!

Since better weather has started, we have been doing family get-together BBQs at least once a weekend. We all love to have quick and easy food to grill so we can enjoy playtime and conversation. With camping season upon us, at the last get-together, we brought foil packet potatoes to test out. They’re super easy to throw on the grill, and they turned out amazing
Foil Packet Potatoes Ingredients:
- Olive Oil
- Potatoes
- Orange Bell Pepper
- Bacon
- Onions– These will be diced; you can leave them large for picky eaters to be able to pick out.
- Montreal Steak Seasoning
- Garlic Salt
- Black Pepper
- Himalayan Pink Salt
- Shredded Cheese
How To Make Foil Packet Potatoes:
Take the time to properly wash, peel, and chop your potatoes and veggies.
Chop up your bacon into small pieces or cut it up with scissors.
Cook your bacon a bit it will cook the rest of the way on the grill in the foil packet.
Cut tin foil wide enough for the potatoes and filling ingredients to fit in.
Sprinkle the tin foil with olive oil or spray with a nonstick spray.
Spread the potatoes onto the oiled tin foil.
Layer the onions, bacon, peppers, and season to taste.
Seal up the foil tightly this will allow it to cook on the grill.
Throw on the top rack of the grill and allow to cook for about 30 minutes.
Take the potatoes off the grill and top with shredded cheese, green onion, sour cream, and/or other toppings of your choice.
Other Ways To cook Foil Packet Potatoes:
In the oven at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes
On the smoker at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or more depending on how your smoke is maintaining temps
In the campfire, this one will have to be watched due to how campfire heat isn’t as regulated but will be tasty

you can try putting this on the car manifold right on the engine and will be done in about same time we did this as a kid travelling had engine meals with mostly tatoes and meats hamburger

You do not have to peel the potatoes just clean them well. The peel on a lot of vegetables is not only edible but good for you !
