Now the important part of cooking with Instant Pot is you need at least 1 cup of liquid or your pot won't pressurize.
Make sure you have you everything ready to go with your Instant Pot. All you need for this recipe is the silver cooking pot and the lid.
Put your pot in your Instant Pot and add your 1 cup of chicken broth.
Set your Instant Pot to the Saute mode.
Slice open your Smithfield Boneless Pork Shoulder Seasoned Carnitas Pork Shoulder package and dump the contents in. I made sure I squeezed out all the seasonings and juices out the packaging.
Allow the meat to saute and start to brown, it happens a lot faster than you would think.
Be sure to flip the meat so the other side browns as well.
Once your pork is browned press the pause/cancel button.
Next press the manual button and then the plus sign to set the time to 30 minutes and seal up the lid.
Make sure the valve is set on sealed and allow to cook.
Once the time is done move the valve on the top to release the last bit of pressure and will go into keep warm mode.
Remove the cooked meat into a bowl and shred the meat for tacos.
Serve and enjoy!!! We served ours on yellow corn tortillas with lettuce, cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, Spanish rice, and beans!
