Rinse and peel your potatoes, you don't have to peel them but my kids prefer the potatoes to be peeled.
Pat dry off your potatoes after they are peeled, you can put them in a salad spinner as well to help them to dry faster.
Using a food processor shred your potatoes using the shredded cheese blade.
Once your potatoes are shredded into slices, place them into an over the sink strainer and rinse them off. This helps to remove the excess starch from the potatoes.
I normally let mine chill in the basket for about ten minutes and kinda keep pushing down on them to help strain out more of the water as well
On a big plate (or two plates) layout paper towels and then scoop your shredded potatoes on to the paper towels
Take another paper towel and press down to squeeze more water out. You may have to repeat this process a couple times, this helps them to cook faster. My son Michael loves to do this step!
Now you can make these in a pan on the stove but if you are making a huge batch I use my electric griddle it makes it so much easier and it heats up evenly the whole time. Plus you can cook eggs, bacon, gravy, and other on the stove top as well.
Drizzle Avocado oil on the griddle and allow it to heat up. I tend to turn my griddle on all the way up to help the hash browns cook faster
Place your potatoes on the griddle and season to taste with Johnny's seasoning salt, garlic salt, and salt and pepper.
Use a Silicone Spatula to flip around the hashbrowns till they are nice and browned!!
