Last year we did The Subaru Kids Obstacle Challenge here in Seattle!! Now it’s probably not much of a secret I like to run and mud runs are my jam. We can not wait to take part in the race again this year! I am part of USFG and am received three Subaru Kids Obstacle Challenge tickets in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and truthful.
This was one of Isabella’s favorite parts of last summer so she is amped for our girls day next Saturday! Now if you haven’t signed up yet you can head on over -> here and use promo code BEBRAVE15 to save on your tickets! This is a blast for the whole family!
Our venue was at Lake Sammamish State Park, which was about an hour drive for us, we signed up for the 9 o’clock wave on Saturday, August 18th. I wanted to do it the course early and I was worried about the heat that day being outside. Now I will say this time of August had been awful for us and the smoke from the wildfires! I loved that Subaru Kids Obstacle Challenge was watching the air quality ratings for whether the event would happen or not. Thankfully it didn’t get awful till the next week so the event still happened!
Now if you have never done a mud or obstacle course there are some things you need to pack to bring and some things that with and things that will make the ride home better!
What To Wear To Subaru Kids Obstacle Challenge:
- Old tennis shoe
- Older clothes that can get muddy (we like white because the mud shows well)
- Pull your hair up
- Sunglasses (stops the mud splashing in eyes)
What To Bring To Subaru Kids Obstacle Challenge:
- Parking Money (ours was announced in the email)
- Bin for muddy clothes
- Towels
- Clean clothes
- Shoes for after clean up
- Water, snacks, protein shakes, or lunch if you want
What Obstacles Are Like At Subaru Kids Obstacle Challenge:
Most of the obstacles are fun for the kids and not completely physically challenging! All three of my kids did all the obstacles (minus Kylie in the water ones) and had fun doing it! There was staff monitoring the obstacles and cheering the kids (and parents) on. You can see my kid’s favorite obstacles in the video below!
My kids loved that they were able to donate their shoes to a local fundraiser. The fundraiser at ours was K9 for Kiley (service dog fundraiser)! They collected 390 pairs of shoes, which is almost $200 towards her service dog!
The hose off station was great for getting rid of a lot of the mud! We hosed off and then went back to the car to grab our towels to change.
Be sure to head on over-> here to see all their upcoming locations!! Have you done the Subaru Kids Obstacle Challenge before? Did your kids like it?
