It’s that time of year again! We are running to and from flag football, soccer practice, and soccer tryouts it seems like we are almost never home. With how busy the kids are it brings up the problem of figuring out times I can squeeze in a workout. Now thankfully with this time of year getting to be ab it later the weather is starting to perk up a bit and we are getting the sunshine more often and later as the time change took effect. Personally, I am all about getting the fresh air outside as often as possible, I mean in I live in Washington we have a rainy season pretty much year round.
Now thank goodness for Walmart!! I love that I can run to Walmart to get what I need and not worry about if I am getting the best deal possible! They always seem to time their rollbacks right around what I need and also you can find coupons on several items throughout the store!!! Right now you can pick up the POWERADE® 8pk 20oz on roll back!! Plus they also have two in-store coupons to look out for from NABISCO, a coupon on the neck of POWERADE® (8pk 20oz)to save $1.50 on NABISCO 20-pack Multipack and $.75 when you purchase a 12-pack or larger NABISCO Multipack that I found in my store! Ways to Stay Active During Sports Practice:
Always Bring Music: Music makes me want to move even if I am feeling sluggish. Having good music to listen to can get me up and moving around even when I didn’t plan to be.
Wear Comfortable Shoes and Clothes: Moving is much easier if you are not in confining clothes or pain shoes. Let’s face it a sports practice isn’t a fashion shoe and never has comfortable terrain either.
Get Siblings Involved: Bella and Kylie get dragged quite often to Michael’s soccer practice. Getting them involved in walking and working out with me helps to set a good example, but also gets them moving. We loved that his old fields backed up to a forest to walk in and love that his new fields are near a farm store and fields to walk in. Plus let’s face it more fun to exercise with others
Map Out a Course: When you find a course with the length you want it’s easier to be able to get in the workout. Plus you will know what to expect and be able to beat your time to make it a challenge as well.
Build Up A Work Out Routine: You can take this one step further than just walking or running and build up a workout. Take a free weight or two, use bodyweight in pushups, situps, and lunges, and anything else you can do. Circuit training is a great way to burn calories!
