It is almost time for the kids to go back to school and for my family, it seems like the last couple weeks of summer are crazy with all our errands and activities. Even though Isabella isn’t playing organized sports, she loves to be active and is always doing something!! Tips For Fueling Your Kids For Back To School:
The first and most important tip is to drink lots of water. As the weather heats up at the end of summer and the first part of the school year, it is important to stress increasing water intake. My kids take a reusable water bottle to school and all of their teachers have been great at reminding them to drink more water as well.
Start with earlier bedtimes two weeks before school starts. We start to transition our bedtime from the later summertime bedtime into an earlier bedtime and wake-up time before we need to. One year, we skipped this and the first week of school was awful for everyone; the whole house was crabby.
Planning can make a world of difference in being ready for any active and always on the go family! I always take snacks with us wherever we are going. It seems no matter how short of a time we plan on being gone, we always end up being gone longer.
Lots of fruit and vegetables, both for snacks and for lunches at school, help fuel busy kids. These are easy ways to fill up and cure an urge to snack. I am thankful my kids love to eat their fruits and veggies any time of day
