How To Stick With Your New Year’s Resolution! Isn’t that an age-old question?? With the New Year approaching, I am evaluating my own goals and what I will set as my New Year’s resolution. While it’s a fun process to come up with the idea of how you’ll change in the New Year or what goals you wish to achieve in both personal and business, more often then not New Year’s resolution are not followed thru on.. I have been working on my weight loss goals for years and while I hit lifetime with WW aka Weight Watchers I will still be focusing on maintaining my loss and some new fitness goals to keep challenging myself. Tips for How To Stick With Your New Year’s Resolution:
Start Small – The best way to become successful in sticking with your New Year’s resolution is to start with a larger goal that’s broken down into smaller accomplishments. This means each day you’ll commit to working on something that helps you get closer to your New Year’s resolution by starting with small goals that pertain to the larger goal that you call your New Year’s resolution.
Tell Everyone- Have someone such as a friend or family member become your accountability partner. This means they’ll keep you on track to stick with your New Year’s resolution. We often disappoint ourselves easier than we disappoint others, so grab yourself a reliable accountability partner and tell the world what your New Year’s resolution is so that you don’t fall off track of your ultimate goal.
Be Realistic- We all have become guilty of getting wrapped up in the excitement of setting a New Year’s resolution, but it’s time to step back and be realistic about your New Year’s resolution. Set a specific goal that’s truly attainable based on your personality, dedication level and timing ability to achieve this goal in the New Year.
Make it Habit- Having a New Year’s resolution that’s tied to a habit that you already have will ensure that you achieve success in sticking with your New Year’s resolution this year. Basically, associate your New Year’s resolution with something you already do on a daily basis. A great example was if you wish to floss daily, then start flossing every time you brush your teeth.
