It seems like the kids are always telling me I didn’t tell them to do the most basic parts of their routines. With starting up next week I knew there had to be a way to make it where I wasn’t repeating myself everyday saying the same things to the kids. I swear on the last day of school last year I still had to remind a kid to brush their teeth before school. The kids and I sat down to talk about how we need to have a smoother school year in the morning and at night.
My kids came up with most of the list; I was pretty impressed with the results of their conversation and brainstorming. The only thing I added to their list was the chores from mom; I didn’t want them to say it wasn’t on their list when we had extra stuff to do. We talked about how it would be wasteful to have to print one out for each day so Kylie came up with the idea of printing it out to put it in a frame! (If you want to print off your own free printable checklist for kids -> here, -> here, -> here, and -> here) We printed it off and the kids trimmed them down to fit in the picture frame, be sure to make sure you get one that is hanging or standing depending on what you prefer.
The list has started to work out pretty great so far. For the rest of summer they know to check off their list in the morning before asking if they can do anything with friends. I am really hoping that this can help the kids with smoother mornings and an easier time at night.
We had to pick up some up to have and as a mom I love that it’s a great on the go snack for him! Plus has “Only the Good Stuff®” meaning no artificial flavors/colors and no high fructose corn syrup either. Since its yogurt it is good source of calcium and vitamin D in it for him as well, which is a must have for any athlete. Our favorite flavors of Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies are Watermelon and Cotton Candy and they are begging to go buy more they really want to find the Golden Bongo, and it’s a great snack for them.
How do you keep the kids organized with the new school year?
