Family movie night!!! With three kids, soccer, homework, work, and just life it can be hard to find a night where we are all home to just chill and relax and enjoy a movie! It is so easy to do this at home but can sometimes be hard to figure out how to make family movie night go off without a hitch. Over the years as the kids have gotten older we have gotten more into family movie nights and the kids look forward to them! Simple things can make them so easy to have at the last minute!
Things to have for an Easy Family Movie Night:
1 Family- It can be everyone or just a few members of the family. I know even when it’s just Kylie and me we have been known to host a movie night while the other two are at their dad’s house!! And there have been times I have had soccer marathons with Michael!! So much cheaper than going out to the theater!
2 PJs- You can’t be comfy sitting on the couch in jeans to watch a marathon of movies!! It’s an unspoken rule in our house now if it’s movie night, you put on pjs!!
3 Blankets- This goes with comfort factor!! You gotta be able to snuggle up and watch the movie!
4 Big couch or floor- My kids love to spread out and relax with their blankets plus if they fall asleep it turns into a big sleepover!
5- Food- We love to be able to snack or have dinner. Typically if we are having a family movie night I really don’t want to spend a ton of time to make up food. State Fair® Corn Dogs and Tyson® Fun Nuggets make a great food to eat during family movie night, just pick them up at Walmart! We make enough for everyone and eat it family style during the movie!
6 Popcorn- Even with food you still need popcorn to snack on, especially if you are doing a marathon movie night! We love finding new ways to spice up our popcorn with a new add-in or mixing flavors in. We do air popcorn with our air popcorn popper, it’s a huge money saver for me!
7 Movies- I mean this is a make or break no movies no family movie night! Right now when you buy participating State Fair, Jimmy Dean®, or Tyson products at Walmart you can get two Redbox® promos codes each good for a 1-night DVD rental (1 promotional code per transaction. Payment card required. Charges apply for additional days. Can’t be combined with other offers. Subject to additional terms. Void where prohibited). Choosing a movie at a Redbox Kiosk is always a favorite for our family movie night so even better to get promo codes with our favorite food as well!

We are actually having a family movie night tonight! We’re excited to watch Trolls. I know the kids are going to love it. We’ve also make turkey enchilada dip to go with chips or you could also put it in a tortilla and make tacos/burritos! It’s going to be a fun night!

Oh my goodness! These are such awesome ideas. I wish I would have read this yesterday. We had a Harry Potterathon with our grandkids but missed out on some of your suggested fun.

My kids love movie night every Friday. They will even get upset if we end up having something that conflicts with it. Love the idea of combining it with easy foods like corn dogs and nuggets. Pizza gets old fast!

Munchy food and comfy clothes are a must. Movie nights at home are more comfortable and less expensive than going out.
