Then and now, isn’t it funny how it seems things will get easier as our kids get older?? Thank you to the Center for Parent and Teen Communication for sponsoring this post. All opinions (and the stories) are my own.
Then
It was running you to daycare to work and plagued with that mom guilt. Sucking in every minute I had with you on my days and nights off. You were so independent and carefree as you made friends in the world.
Now
We sit through meetings laying out what is expected of you as you join our local search and rescue to follow your dreams of becoming a game warden. Now we sit here nightly going through vocabulary words, Spanish words, and practicing facts for tests.
It’s amazing how fast you have grown up, and how soon you will be out in the real world.
This video is a perfect match with this article by Dr. Ken Ginsburg at the Center for Parent and Teen Communication. It is important to remember everything that you love about our children being babies and seeing a lot of that come back out again as we go thru their teenage years! This new resource (See it -> here) is a great guide as we go onto the teenage years!
What were your favorite memories of your child as a baby? Are they doing anything similar now as a teenager now?
